Robert Redford Speaks Up About Preserving Our Wilderness

This week, the Huffington Post featured a fantastic commentary by Robert Redford on why it is crucial for our government to develop a plan to preserve our nation’s wilderness, before it is lost.

Protecting wilderness is important for not only the preservation of their beauty, but because if a piece of land is at all altered by human, whether it be pipelines, access roads, or oil drills, the Wilderness Act of 1964 prohibits from ever becoming a protected wilderness area.

We are starting to see a shift towards preserving the nation’s landscapes by the Obama administration, and with Interior Secretary Ken Salazar’s continued efforts, we may be able to save these areas for future generations.

You can take action and petition Salazar to protect our nation’s wilderness areas by sending this letter, complements of the NRDC.
