Always committed to sustainability in their design and manufacturing of lightweight gear, GoLite has taken that idea one step farther, and started their Take-Back Program, announced on Tuesday. Although their products are designed to last, at some point a replacement will probably be in order. So what do you do with your old GoLite gear? Send it back to them!
In an effort to encourage recycling and reduce the amount of waste in landfills, through their Take-Back Program, GoLite is providing information for how to best recycle, reuse, or repair old and worn gear. And if that’s too much for you, as a part of the program they will take your old gear (from any season and any year) and find a way to recycle, reuse, donate, or repurpose it. While they are only accepting their own products, it’s a step in the right direction and is bringing awareness to the importance in sustainable manufacturing.
Not only will you be able to give yourself a pat on the back for doing something good for the environment and recycling your worn out jacket, tent, or pack, but you’ll also get a 20% off coupon at www.GoLite.com for a new purchase. Restrictions do apply, so for more information about the program, check out the Take-Back Program site.
