The 2009 Rainier Mountain Festival is coming up–September 12th and 13th. Admission to the festival is free, and located at Rainier Basecamp in Ashford, Washington. A big highlight of the event is that over the course of the two-day festival, you can attend meet and greet, Q&A sessions, and view slideshows from mountaineering legends Ed Viesturs, Jim and Lou Whittaker, Dave Hahn, Seth Waterfall, and many others.
Other events will be the Post Monsoon Sale, where you can pick up great deals on 2009 rental inventory, 5-mile Trail Run, Alpine Games (Erect-A-Tent, Sled Pull, and Speed Bouldering), mountain technique demonstrations, book signings, raffle, and even fun for kids with a rock climbing wall.
