Today’s bit of news comes from Pickering, in the UK. Last Friday, thieves tunneled into a local outdoor gear store, Trailblazer Outdoor, in the early morning hours of November 13th.
Co-owners Neil and Andy Armstrong couldn’t believe what they found that morning–a hole in the side of their shop and over £14,000 of merchandise stolen. Neil Armstrong said, “We thought we had good security, CCTV cameras, double locks, and reinforced doors – the lot. You just never imagine someone will get in through the walls.” Andy Armstrong added a word of caution to fellow retailers in the area, as it appears that the thieves knew what they were doing.
The unfortunate part of this story is that an event like this could very well lead to the closing of the shop. However, the co-owners of Trailblazer Outdoor are not going to let this event stop them.
