NPS waiving entrance fees three weekends this summer

Just in time for summer vacation planning, the National Park Service will be waiving entrance fees in 147 national parks and monuments. An effort to draw tourism, the fee-free weekends will be June 20-21 (Father’s Day weekend), July 18-19, and August 15-16.

While these weekends might be considerably busier, the opportunity for savings is worth it. For some parks, like Yellowstone National Park, this will save you the $25 vehicle entrance fee, and many local businesses like restaurants, hotels, and tour operators may be offering discounts and promotions in conjunction with these weekends. But keep in mind the waiver does not cover fees for camping, tours, or reservations.

For those living in Washington (like us), Mount Rainier and Olympic National Parks are included in the list of parks waiving fees those three weekends. To view the whole list, click here.
