Google Street View has added a new vehicle to their fleet–a 250-pound tricycle equipped with a GPS and camera. While their cars are hitting the streets across the country, the Google Trike will be collecting images in places where you can’t drive. But first, they are asking for your input–where should they go next?
They have opened up suggestions to the public, and you can place your vote until October 28th here. Categories include: parks and trails, campuses, zoos and theme parks, outdoor pedestrian malls, landmarks, and sports venues.
The Street View team has put together a little video featuring the Trike at work. The project, started as a “20% project” by Daniel Ratner, began after he realized “how many interesting places around the world–ranging from historic landmarks to beautiful trails to shopping districts–aren’t accessible by car.”
Where would you suggest the Google Street View Trike visit?
