Glacier National Park study looking for volunteers

NPS Title

If you love the national parks and environmental sciences, then thisĀ  volunteer opportunity might just be for you. Glacier National Park officials are looking for long-term volunteers to assist in air-quality studies in the park. Air-quality monitoring is a program that has been in place for many years and provides an important foundation for the park officials to build resource conservation programs around.

Volunteers would assist park staff in the program, collecting and downloading data, calibrating equipment, performing data entry and other administrative tasks involved with the program. Training would be provided.

All potential volunteers would need to commit to the long-term program, and be available one to two days per week. A day worked would range from four to eight hours. The overall program commitment would be at a minimum four to six months long, possibly longer if the volunteer is available.

If this sounds like something you’re interested in, contact the park’s fisheries biologist Chris Downs via phone (406-888-7917) or email (chris_downs@nps.gov) or the natural resources program manager Mark Biel via phone (406-888-7919) or email (mark_biel@nps.gov).
