Wow. You guys really do hike all over the place. In the 3 or 4 gear closet giveaways we’ve done, we have never had such a response as we did this week. It was no easy task picking one person to get the Brunton Restore, but we did.
Thank you everyone for sending in your photos. It’s amazing to see where everyone is heading out to and really makes writing Daily Hiker worthwhile.
The Winner:
Dawn submitted this photo at the end of last week. I’m not sure where it was taken, but that’s some serious dedication to draw our logo on sharpie on your leg. I wouldn’t encourage everyone to start submitting sharpie photos, but this was definitely creative. Congrats Dawn!
Honorable Mention:
Scott sent this photo in with a story that I wanted to share:
“Here is me on one of my regular hikes. I am a disabled hiker, I have had 11 surgeries in the past 9 years and was told that in order to keep my legs and continue walking, I needed to walk as much as possible. It’s difficult and painful, but I love getting out and hiking the trails around my home and beyond. Thanks for encouraging us to stay at it!!!”
Thanks Scott, stories like this are why we keep writing Daily Hiker. Keep getting outside and I hope your legs heal.
Runner Up:
Instead of a single runner up, here are a few of the many excellent photos we got this week (in no particular order).
From Bill Dollar. Love the look!
From Matt Payne “The Daily Hiker light on the tent is from a laser pen from inside the tent (where I was at). I had fun doing it either way, took a few tries!”
From Cory Magin:
“This is a picture of my wife, our son, and I on our sons first hike at Staircase in the Olympic National Forest. Along the trail we searched for letters in nature and this is what we came up with!

The “Letters” in nature are Fantastic! Definitely my favorite!
Dag nabbit good stuff you wihprpesnapeprs!
