If you’re planning on visiting Rocky Mountain National Park, be careful to not spill any beer in your car when you leave it in the parking lot. Last week, a bear managed to pry open the door of a Toyota Prius to get inside. What was inside the car that was so tempting to this bear? Spilled beer, toothpaste, and sunblock!
The owner of the car returned from a backcountry camping trip to find his a door pried open, shattered window, and a torn up center console. The bear had been so focused on getting inside the car that the door had been bent from the top to a point that it was parallel to the ground.
In addition to the above mentioned items found in the car, rangers also found traces of food and scented items that may have attracted the bear. This break-in is the fourth this year at the Wild Basin trailhead. Unfortunately, rangers haven’t been able to determine if it’s the same bear because no one has been witness to the events. Visitors have been urged to make sure that they do not leave any scented items or food stuffs in their car when parking in the area.

My kind of Bear… wonder if he likes a good Hefeweizen?
He was probably looking for some Sake.
