I bought this Timex WS4 about 1 1/2 years ago.
I must say this is the worst scrap I ever purchased.
Not only that from beginning on there was moist intrusion so that the display got humid from the inside (the response of Timex repair service was I must not press any button while swimming, or use it in hot water; such a nonsense excuse), after a while the display digits shifted one or two grids to the left, the result was that the analog-digital clock was no longer displayed properly and the digital display clock, once it reached 20:00 hours displayed only half of the “2″.
Besides that, who was so clever to add an analog AND a digital clock next to each other with displaying the same time zone? If it would display another time zone it would have been useful but this way it’s complete nonsense.
Battery consumption increased tremendous, the last time the life span was only two months. And it was definitely was not a cheap battery.
But the worst was, after replacing the battery the fourth time, now the compass refused to indicate others than north, and after rotating the watch a small angle it immediately switched to south.
I got enough of this watch, I scrapped it. Then, I had to use my 15 years old CASIO wrist watch again which ought to be replaced by this WS4. Contrary to this bunch of scrap it still works flawless. And I can go swimming with it and even press buttons.
Now I bought a CASIO Protrek, the difference in quality and logic is awesome.
Farewell TIMEX, never ever again.

Ok, i have done altitude callibration. After pressin done must press stop/reset button for short time.

I have problem to calibrate altitude. I chose call mode reference man-alt. Setting correct altitude according gps. Pressing done and value curr alt is still wrong and the same asbefore callibration. How is possible to calibrate altitude ?

Try recalibrating the watch and make sure you’re away from any metallic objects. Also make sure you take it off your wrist before you calibrate the watch. The full manual is available here should you need it: http://assets.timex.com/instructions/W253_WS4_EN.pdf

Failing that, give Timex a call. They’ve been pretty responsive to us in the past.

IVE PURCHASED THE TIMEX WS4 WATCH. ITS A MASTERPIECE , BUT RECENTLY CALIBRATED THE COMPASS AND NOW THE WATCH DOES NOT DISPLAY E,W,NE,NW,SE,SW HEADINGS WHICH IT USED TO PREVIOUSLY DISPLAY.CUD U PLS FIND ME A SOLUITON TO THIS .
THE CALIBRAION WAS FINE IT SHOWS OK ALL THE TIME , ALSO THE DECLINATION IS CORRECTLY FED , JUS DUNNO WATS WRONG

Glad you liked our review. Timex has a few new models of the WS4 coming out including one that attaches to a backpack via a carabiner, so I’d imagine it’ll be a month or two before the WS4 is widely available again.
