Review: Hi-Tec St. Moritz Luxe 200i
Are you looking for boots that will keep you hitting the trails, even after it starts to snow? These waterproof, insulated, and lined boots from Hi-Tec will keep your feet warm and dry through the winter months. Read our review for more.
Launched globally in 1982, Hi-Tec has made a name for themselves in the footwear market by making “comfortable, lightweight high-quality shoes” and selling them “at a fair “true value” price.”
The St. Moritz Luxe 200i are fully-functioning winter hikers designed for women. Weighing in at 18.8 ounces, these boots are lightweight, especially considering the extra height and insulation. The suede upper is treated with Hi-Tec’s ion-mask⢠hydro-management technology–a waterproof barrier that is bonded to the surface of shoe in a vacuum chamber. To keep your feet warm on long winter hikes, the shoes have 200 grams of Thinsulate⢠insulation.
There are some nice touches on the St. Moritz Luxe that take it beyond the typical snow boot. They are easy to slip on and adjust, but also feature a nice drawstring and toggle around the top of the lining that cinches down to keep snow out of the top of the boot. While they run true to size, they have ample room for thicker, winter-weight socks. The sole features a “Winter Traction” design, using thin slits in the treads to improve traction on ice, and raised rubber nubs for maximum grip on slick surfaces.
Overall, the St. Moritz Luxe are a quality, winter-weather boot that works in a multitude of outdoor activities, from hiking to snowshoeing. They retail for $115.
