I recently had the chance to try out a pair of shoes from Dansko’s latest collection, the Acadia line. Widely known for their comfortable, basic stapled clog, Dansko is starting to branch out and develop more styles, but still focusing on comfort and quality. This new line was designed with active women in mind, specifically by keeping the sole lightweight and with a lower profile than their basic clog.
Straight out of the box, these shoes were comfortable. The in addition to the sole having a low profile, it’s also non-marking and slip resistant. The specific model that I tested, the Kate, is the mary-jane style clog. It features an adjustable buckle, but also has forgiving elastic where the strap meets the sides of the shoe.
Another great feature is the completely removable, triple-density EVA insole, designed for those who use custom orthotics. However, those who don’t use custom orthotics won’t suffer either—the insole provided plenty of support and is quite soft. The shoe also has a roomy toebox—combined with the adjustable strap, these shoes can accommodate a variety of sock thicknesses without being too binding.
However, my favorite feature on these clogs may be the most superfluous—the distressed leather upper. I tend to wear my shoes hard, and scuffs accumulate quickly. The distressed leather will mask the wear and tear well over time. And though these aren’t the shoes I would pick to wear out on the trail, they are great around town shoes, providing comfort, and a bit of style, too.

Looks like Dansko has put a lot of thought into designing this shoe elastic on the ends of the strap, a removable insole for orthotics and scuff resistant. This shoe kinda sounds to good to be true.
